There's no hint of the uncertainty of just a moment ago in her face now. There's only wariness, but she doesn't take back her hand.
"It's kind of useless to think about right now since I can't see a way out, though."
If they're going to talk about things there are no guarantees about, how about she gets him to promise he won't drop dead the second he leaves.
Who knows what's going to happen if they ever get to leave, together or otherwise, and while she agreed to this arrangement, she doesn't automatically expect the best.
It's just that she's not exactly the delicate type.
And honestly, she's pretty sure he wants to get out of this place and stretch his legs as much as she does.
